Early Life & Education

Born in Johor Bahru and raised in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Aina is the youngest of five siblings to parents Abdul Ghani Abdullah and Zaini Abdullah. She received her primary education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Mawar in Senawang and continued to SMK Puteri for her secondary schooling.

At just 15 years old, Aina faced a profound loss—her father passed away in 2008. Reflecting in a 2021 interview, she revealed, “Losing my father made me stronger and braver in facing challenges,” and considered her artistic journey as a tribute to him.

Driven by her passion for music, teenage Aina routinely commuted from Seremban to Kuala Lumpur for vocal training, even performing traditional Malay songs and gamelan or cak lempong music at weddings—earning her first taste of performing professionally.

She later pursued higher education at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur, graduating with a Bachelor of Contemporary Music—a degree she completed in 2020 and officially received in 2021. This strong musical foundation laid the groundwork for her expressive artistry and rising star power.

Career & Artistic Journey

Aina’s journey began with gig performances in dining lounges and competitions like Irama 1Malaysia (2010) and Bintang Idola Berita Harian (2011), where she quickly made her mark. Her undeniable talent earned her a spot—and the runner-up title—in the reality show Mentor Legend in 2014, mentoring under the legendary Ella. From there, her star only continued to ascend, with her debut single Ini Yang Kau Mahu (2015) marking the start of a distinguished recording career.

In 2023, Aina achieved one of the most prestigious milestones in Malaysian music when she won Anugerah Juara Lagu 37 (AJL 37) with her song Terus Hidup. The victory not only cemented her as one of the nation’s top singer-songwriters but also highlighted her ability to craft music that resonates deeply with listeners. Her performance at AJL 37 was praised for its raw emotion, flawless vocal delivery, and powerful stage presence—further solidifying her reputation as an artist of international calibre.
